Why do you host a website instead of use WeChat Public Account / Rednote / Twitter

WeChat Public Account and Rednote lack freedm, my content can be deleted, my account can be banned and they often do that.

How do you balance your studies, technology learning and blog writing?

I usually surf the Internet on Saturdays and do my homework on Sundays. To be honest, I struggle to balance them, so I just maintain above-average grades.

What are your areas of interest?

Literature, math, algorithms (though I’m still a novice), GNU / Linux and so on.

Can you explain your screen name?

My Chinese screen name is taken from a kind of creeper on the wall of my middle school. In spring and summer, the leaves are verdant, while in autumn, they turn as red as sunset. Thus, my English screen name is Verdant.

Why do you keep using static site generator but not Wordpress or something else dynamic platforms

Because I have no money to rent an extra server to host my blog. And it’s cumbersome to maintain. Another advantage of static site generator is easy version control.
